Kinesiology (muscle testing) is a way of accessing our deepest wisdom to receive information not available to the conscious mind. Using the muscles of the body, we can access an outer expression of our deepest wisdom’s response to yes/no questions.
Kinesiology can be used on any muscle in the body. The GSH facilitator and the client work together to find the easiest muscle to use: typically the client holds out their arm at a 45-degree angle from their body, and the facilitator pushes gently on their forearm.
When a person is asked a question, the muscles in their body will become either strong or weak, depending on whether or not the answer is ‘yes’ or ‘no.’ For instance, if your name is Wendy and the facilitator asks you if your name is Karen, your muscles will answer by going weak. The facilitator can then easily push down your arm. If your name really were Karen, then your arms would remain strong and the facilitator literally would not be able to push your arms down no matter how hard he or she tried! Simply said, we have at least three levels of wisdom:
Conscious – the mind, our everyday knowing;
Unconscious – a deeper level known through dreams, synchronicities, hypnosis;
Deepest Wisdom – a body-based wisdom that knows what has happened to us, why it has happened and what to do about it. You might have experienced this deepest wisdom as an ‘Ah ha’, a sense of knowing, even though you don’t know how you knew.
Muscle testing will only give dependable answers when it is done in service of the highest good of the client. As such, both the facilitator and the client must stay grounded within their bodies, and must set the intention that they will connect with deepest truth.
You simply won’t get accurate answers in these situations. |
